Hiranyakaship’s son, Prahlad, was a devout devotee of Vishnu. Hiranyakashyap was determined to kill Prahlad, but Vishnu protected him on every occasion.
One day, Hiranyakashyap tried to kill Prahlad by setting him on fire. However, Vishnu appeared in the form of a man-lion, Narasimha, and killed Hiranyakashyap.
